Bokashi bran is crucial to allow fermentation to take place in Bokashi composters. This bran is a biogen, a ‘magic’ ingredient, that aids the fermentation of your food waste. When you add this bran to the biological waste inside you Bokashi Organko Bin, it starts to work. In just a short time, this magical bran triggers the fermentation process, helping to create a Bokashi liquid. This is a natural fertilizer, which is a superfood for your plants.
Bokashi bran is a mixture of effective microorganisms, water, sugar, and wheat bran. Each of these ingredients has an important role in the fermentation process. What is more, the bran prevents food from rotting, reducing the likelihood of any unpleasant smells!
(N.b. In general, 1kg of bran should suffice for about 30 days of regular use of your Organko.)
